Me and Jem in Mexico |
I was catching up with a couple of good friends over the phone last night, and it sparked a time of reflecting on what God has done in my life. As I shared about our graduation from the Center for Pioneer Church Planting coming up this week, one of my friends reminded me of how a couple years ago this was only a dream. Just over two years ago he and I were having a great talk about dreams for the future as we worked to replace the transmission on my Geo Tracker. At that point, I was broke, had no job, my car was majorly broken down and I had no wife. Yet the dream I shared with Joel was that God would give me a family and that we would serve the Lord by helping to reach those who have no access to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
God has done so much these last couple years! He has graciously blessed me with a beautiful wife and beautiful daughter! He blessed me with a great job shortly after Joel and I talked. He even blessed us with a second car shortly after we got married. Even more than the material things, God has faithfully blessed our desire to serve Him by paving the way for us to finish training for the mission field. Coming down to the Center for Pioneer Church Planting, we had very little support, but God has faithfully brought us through and blessed our finances. We are also very much on track to get to the mission field. We are at the point in our discussions with leadership to go from missionary candidates to missionary appointees. He is even beginning to bless our next stage of support-raising and other preparations for the field by opening up a place for us to live and providing an internship with our home church!
Praise the Lord with us as we close out this season of fantastic missionary training at the Center for Pioneer Church Planting!
