Steps Towards the Unreached

I set out for yesterday to be a day of rest after such a crazy weekend of moving, which ended up working out pretty well. I was able to sleep in and then work on some support-raising stuff in the late morning. After lunch I went out to go mow the yards Brian is letting me have for the summer.

On the way I swung by Chula Vista to meet up with Mr. Dyer at Laser Warfare. We discussed the fundraiser that we're planning to raise support for us to be missionary interns this fall. As I had been praying about how we should do this fundraiser, God brought 3 things to mind in regards to opening it up to the public as opposed to it being just a church group:
1. Obviously, opening it to the public would bring in more support, which would be very helpful as we are quite shy of our goal of $2,300 per month.
2. More importantly, I know that the owners of Laser Warfare are wanting to use part of the business income to support missionaries, so I think it'd be cool to be open about that right off the bat.
3. Most importantly, God brought to mind the reactions of my old boss and co-worker (unbelievers) when they heard I was taking my family to the mission field. Both of them on separate occasions where very moved, almost disturbed, that I would take my family to the dangerous jungle. It gave me an opportunity to share how Jesus and the beautiful Gospel are worth the danger. I think having this open to the public is a great witness to how precious our Savior is!
All that to say, keep watching for the fundraiser we'll be doing out at Laser Warfare located at Chula Vista!

I spent the rest of the day mowing, which went great except for hauling rotting grass that I bagged last week all the way home!

We're now living at the Wilkosz place out in the country surrounding the Wisconsin Dells. Sarah's dad had offered for us to stay there so we could save money for school during the last month of our stay in Wisconsin. I also quit my job working 12-13 hour days with the construction company, mostly because I had no time to raise support. I realized that although I might have some construction skills by the end of the summer, I would not be able to be faithful to our supporters if I kept working that job. We made these two decisions because we felt that they were acts of obedience towards the mission that we feel God is calling us to.
