Spring Trip to Papua New Guinea

One of the Villages Near the Mission Station
There has been a relatively new development in our plans for the spring trip to Papua New Guinea. Our original plan was to go as a family. Sarah and I think that it is a wise investment for her to be able to experience Papua New Guinea as we are seriously considering that for long-term ministry.

Unfortunately, we were not able to raise very much financial support for this trip, so by default I would be going alone with the team to southern Mexico for spring trip. Before final plans were made though, leadership at the CPCP approached me and offered to make a way for me to be on the PNG trip. We decided to go ahead with that idea as we appreciated leadership wanting me on the team and I would already be gone in Mexico if I didn't go to PNG.

So, I will be heading to the highlands of Papua New Guinea once again! We will be doing some pastoral training on how to teach through Genesis. We will also be spread out individually among several different villages to do "village living." This involves shadowing one of the PNG pastors for the whole week and doing everything that he does. That could involve working in the garden, going to market,  teaching at his church, etc. I'm very excited for that part of the trip in particular! We will also be spending time doing some work projects around the missions station where the Sisson family lives. I'm excited to get to spend time ministering under Alex's leadership there in PNG.

We leave on Tuesday, February 18th, and return Thursday, March 13th. As we get closer to our departure date I will post prayer requests, as well as a trip itinerary. I am looking forward to seeing what God does in and through our team!
